Artcentre

Neljä lasta ja aikuinen katsovat yhdessä seinällä olevaa taideteosta ja lukevat teostietoja taulun vieressä olevalta teoskortilta.

Education

Exhibitions are accompanied by workshops and guided tours for schools and day care centres in Hyvinkää and adjoining areas. The art centre designs and organises training for people involved in art education for children and young people, such as teachers and day care staff.

Teoksia lattialla niin, ettei niiden sisällöistä saa tarkasti selvää. Kuva teoksista on otettu sivulta päin ja siitä johtuen osa teoksista näyttää, että osa teoksista leijuu lattian pinnan yläpuolella.

Foundation and it’s history

The Art Centre for Children and Young People is run by a foundation established and funded by the Ministry of Education and Culture and the City of Hyvinkää. The foundation was established in 1980.

Research

The Art Centre for Children and Young People has a unique international collection of children’s and young people’s art, which is significant even by international standards. This collection provides excellent material to study the art of children and young people. The extensive collection can be studied from both artistic and cultural history viewpoints. The collection presents an excellent opportunity to conduct comparative studies, due to its wide geographic and age range. The art centre’s exhibition and workshop activities provide opportunities to study and experiment with various methods of art education, whether the target group is children, young people or adults.
